Danbury is home to a number of parks and recreational facilities that give way to a multitude of possibilities! In fact, we have 1644 acres of open space! Go for a hike or relax by the water and experience the wonderful opportunities that Danbury has to offer
Bear Mountain is situated on 140 acres of land with an outlook, a ranger cottage and parking area. Come explore a hiking trail at this beautiful dog-friendly destination.

With 11 acres and 200 yards of beach-front, put your toes in the sand, swim, relax and enjoy Candlewood Town Park. The Park offers benches, picnic tables, a concession stand, restrooms, outdioor shower, playgrounds and a boating dock (separate entrance). Candlewood Town Park opens for season Saturday, May 27th.
Spring hours 12 - 6PM daily.
Summer Hours Weekdays 12 -6PM, Saturday's 11- 7PM, Sunday's 10 - 7PM
No Alcohol Allowed in park. Gas grills only. Proper swim attire required to enter water

Boat Ramp access for Danbury Residents ONLY, must show proof of residency. Season and Daily passes must be purchased at Boat Ramp or Danbury Park & Rec Office.

The Candlewood Valley Regional Land Trust is a private, non-profit corporation formed for the sole purpose of protecting open space woodlands, fields, ponds and other wetlands.
Elmwood Park spans 1.5 acres with benches, a water fountain and a walking area for passive recreation.

Farrington Woods spans over 190 acres of passive recreation which includes a variety of hiking trails, plus Sanfords Pond which is suitable for kayaking, canoeing, and fishing. Plenty of parking available. No swimming is permitted.

Hatters Park sits on 32 acres of land, The Danbury Park & Recreation office is located on site along with Hatter Park Banquet Hall, open air picnic pavilion, a pond and playground, plus a Duckpin bowling alley. The Recreation Dept, is responsible for rentals of banquet hall and pavilion, 203-797-4632 and responsible for the scheduling of the 3 softball fields. Field permit required for use and issued by P & R.

A 25-acre park with benches, playground, Spray Park, 4 soccer fields (field use permit required from Park & Rec Office), Park area has picnic tables. No swimming is allowed at Lake Kenosia. The Spray Park hours are 10-4pm and are seasonal.

Lions Park is a 2-acre playground with swings, jungle gym, and other fun active equipment.

Get your pups and take them down to Danbury's newest off-leash Dog Park! Your pets can run free, just don’t forget to clean up after them!

Get your pups and take them down to the very first Danbury off-leash Dog Park! With two fenced in areas, your pet can run free amongst dogs their size. Just don’t forget to clean up after them!

Located next to the Danbury Police Headquarters, Memorial Park was constructed in order to honor all of our fallen heroes from the Danbury Police and Fire Departments. Memorial Park was officially dedicated on October 15, 2017 and serves our community as a reminder of the sacrifice these individuals made for our community.

This 230-acre park hosts an 18-hole golf course and pro shop, marked hiking trails, tennis courts, winter recreation, the Richter Arts Association center, outdoor summer theater and Cafe on the Green Restaurant which offers fine dining and patio seating with a grill area.

A 56-acre park with 6 baseball and 4 softball fields, multipurpose turf field (field use permits required from Park & Rec Office) tennis/Pickleball, and volleyball courts, handball-paddleball court, Outdoor Basketball court, concession stand, pond with hiking/nature trail, outdoor excersize area, Veterans Hall and The Danbury War Memorial building which sponsors many adult and youth activities.

Large playground and spray park adjacent to Rogers Park with swings and numerous other equipment for children to enjoy.
Spray Park hours beginning May 27 - June 16th will be Noon - 6pm daily.

5.5-acre fields that include football, soccer, boys & girls lacrosse, and field hockey fields (field use permit required from Park & Rec Office).

The Still River Greenway Project is a multi-faceted environmental restoration with the goal of creating a “greenway” along the river corridor. The Still River Alliance works to protect Danbury’s main waterway. 2-mile hiking/nature trail, stream available for paddling/kayaking.
